It started on a sun kissed hill, a kind of entrapment, a forced cessation of movement. And that light. My travels continue.
These paintings are the colours and the textures of this travelling.
My constant companions: the red and the green, the burnt umber unseen. The journey continues amid these many hues, these beguiling blues. They weave their wispy silken skeins, leaving colours pouring out of dreams I began painting after an accident in 1996 which left me unable to walk for 3 months. At that time I was living in a fairly isolated cottage half way up a hill on Paros, Greece.
My first attempts were in watercolour from a box I found in the cottage on whatever surfaces that I could scrounge up.
I graduated to acrylics and held my first exhibition in Malaysia several years later.
Thanks to the support of my partner, I have been painting full-time since 2006. We've been living in Malta since 2007. Exhibitions: 2003 – Private showing in Subang Jaya (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
2007 – Art Bar La Teteria, Spain Da Vinci's, Gibraltar
2008 – Two juried competitions of the Malta Arts Society
2009 - VeeGeeBee, Valletta - Spring Mixed Exhibition |
