Evening lovely people I thought I'd show you this - it's an altered version of an original inks on Yupo painting.

Hello. My Name is Lyn Fernandez and I paint under the name LAF ART. I hope you enjoy my work. To view, simply make a selection from the Works menu above.
Evening lovely people I thought I'd show you this - it's an altered version of an original inks on Yupo painting.
So after 10 days of unpacking and sorting - no we don't have that much stuff hha, but you know there's space to be made for paperwork and bits of this and that and odds and sods anyway finally this morning I started to sort out my room - it's about half the size - or maybe even a bit less of the old studio so it's a bit like doing a jigsaaw puzzle at the moment, plus there is a bunkbed over what is now my desk so I have to be really careful - I'm mean I'm a clumsy bugger anyway but I can see that what little brains I still possesss will be knocked out of me soon as my head bounces off the underside of said bed - hey ho. On the positive I can see miles of sky after 2 long years of straining to see a sliver, happy me. The only thing which seems to have gone missing during the move is my fav palette knife which is a pain but it may turn up.
Hi all, I've decided to make prints of some of my paintings available on Saatchi Art.
Here is one, it's called Crackle and is 70 by 50cms acrylic on canvas if you'd like to purchase a print or the original for that matter then please click this link :https://www.saatchiart.com/art/Painting-Crackle/768028/3344065/view.
At the other end now - unpacking - having jettisoned bags full of stuff - stuff which has been hanging around for who knows how long, stuff which obviously wasn't needed, I feel lighter and a lot more positive than I have for a while. I've moved from one side of the island to the other, the air is cleaner, the mood is gentler, I feel that I can breathe again both physically and metaphorically speaking. I've spent most of the summer mooching over here to go swimming or sometimes just for coffee and a bit of peace. My next series is floating gently around my head.Needless to say this is a photo of reflections in the water
Ok so I wouldn't normally do this but needs must... Our landlady has decided that due to the Valletta 2018 or V18 as it's known now is the perfect time for her to double the rent. We can't afford it so we have two weeks to leave. As the rents have become more and more expensive here we'll have to move to somewhere smaller and with that in mind I need to find homes for my older paintings. So if you have a moment please have a look and if you find something you like please make an offer - all will be considered. Thanks
Hi people, hope you're having a chilled Sunday.
Here's a little one I completed last night. It's acrylic and pens on Yupo
20 by 30 cms.
Available
There are paintings which almost paint themselves, by which I mean I prep the canvas
select the first colour, load my knife or brush and when I look up again several hours have passed
and I have at least the base of the painting sorted in my head and on the canvas.Usually a tea break follows.
Then there are the others ..... one of which I'm working on now - well I say working, actually what I'm mostly
doing is staring. This painting was was started a while ago, I had an idea which I started to paint then
realized that it really didn't work so knifed some white over it and sat and stared at it for a while.
I've laid down another couple of colours and am staring again - it's quite frustrating cos I can almost
see what I need to do - almost, but not quite. Hmm maybe some wine would help
A detail - which may or may not be changed - hey ho
I've been casting a critical eye over some of my recent paintings, mainly due
to moving them around to make more space. Anyway this one caught my eye
as it seemed unfinished somehow, almost like it had forgotten to puts its clothes on.
So I took various brushes and pens to it and it is now dressed and ready to leave the
house.
I started this one ages ago - then stopped - then started again. It's 120 by 100 so my arm muscles are really happy with
the workout as I paint on the floor then put it up on a work top to view it, so it's been up and down and up and down.
It's a commission and whilst I was given free reign I had a limited colour palatte with which to work.
At various ugly stages it was given a partial whiteout and then started agian I could see what I wanted
it to become but if I looked away then back again that image would have disappeared - hence the title.
Fingers crossed that the recipient loves it.
I've always been interested in politics, alternately amused and infuriated by the buffoonery, arrogance, and
shortsightedness shown by many, grateful for those who show compassion
and wisdom. But over the last few years I've become more and more
disenchanted with the so called democracy under which most of
us toil and also the appalling amount of posturing and obfuscation which goes on within
governments - mostly in the name of pocket filling or power pumping or both.
To that end I paint only with transparent colours. It's my modest form
of protest.
This was painted a few months ago at the height of the festa/fiesta
season here. They love fireworks and use any excuse to stage a show.
For this reason the painting also reminds me of summer.
It's 60 by 60cm and available - a quick message will secure it.
